All change to the ITV soaps in January
It’s set to be a completely new schedule in January 2026 as the ITV soaps introduce a so-called power hour. Emmerdale will move from its 7.30pm slot to 8pm every weeknight. It will also cut its hour-long Thursday episode to just half an hour. Episodes will still be available on ITVX and YouTube every morning at 7am.
Coronation Street will then go from three hour-long episodes a week, to five half-hour long ones. It will air every weeknight directly after Emmerdale at 8.30pm.
This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
