Traitors star Paul Gorton called out Joe Marler’s ‘rule break’ ahead of yesterday’s (November 6) Celebrity Traitors finale.

Last night, millions tuned in and found out that comedian Alan Carr, who played as a Traitor since the beginning, won the game. He made the final three alongside Faithfuls Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga.

In a shock reveal, Alan burst into tears before being comforted by Nick and Mohammed. Fellow Traitor Cat Burns was banished at the final round table.

Meanwhile, former rugby player Joe Marler was voted out first when the final four voted on whether they wanted to end the game or banish again.

That said, Paul, who competed on The Traitors during series two in 2024, pointed out that Joe had broken the rules before the final episode.

In his column for the Mirror, he said: “In series one, Kieran gave the Faithfuls a ‘parting gift’ and outed Wilf as a Traitor – that’s firmly against the rules. You can only use evidence that has been built on camera to be put against someone. So you can’t use travel arrangements, sleeping arrangements, any of that stuff. You can only use what is in front of you on camera that the public can see.”

Paul continued: “There’s something called metagaming that people are doing now and Joe Marler has kind of done it with the Big Dog theory. ‘Well, I think the producers would pick you two as Traitors.’ You’re not really supposed to play producer, you’re supposed to use the information that’s around you – but I don’t think you can stop that with this game because people are so desperate they’ll start venturing outside of the game to help them gain favour.”

Paul explained that Stephen Fry tried to do the same with Cat. He further mentioned that “it’s not really within the rules to do that”.

He played an amazing game’

Last night’s finale left viewers immediately reacting online. Many were happy to see Alan Carr win, with one user writing: “Alan has played a blinder!”

Well done to Alan Carr,” another person shared.

“Alan Carr is a legend. He played an amazing game. Get in,” a third remarked.

Meanwhile, others were gutted that Joe Marler didn’t go all the way.

Gutted for Joe, got stabbed in the back right at the end. Great finale! Well done Alan played a great game,” one said.

It should’ve been Joe,” another insisted.
