The Wives on C5 and My5: Inside the new thriller, including cast, starting date, plot, and locations
By Helen Fear | Wed Sep 11 2024The Wives is the latest thriller to land on Channel 5 and My5 and, this time, the cast is absolutely heaving with some of our favourite TV actresses.
Jo Joyner, Angela Griffin, and Tamzin Outhwaite join forces in the new series, a six-part mystery drama that follows the "unravelling of one family in a summer that changes all their lives".
Like Love Rat, The Holiday, and Heat before it, events take place overseas - so there's intrigue AND beautiful locations. Win/win.
Here's everything you need to know about The Wives on Channel 5 and My5, including the cast, filming locations, plot, and starting date.
What is the plot of The Wives on Channel 5 and My5?
The domestic thriller follows four sisters-in-law who, with their families, have always escaped to their Maltese holiday apartments. They've done so every summer for 10 years.
However, this year is different. A lot has changed in 12 months. The previous year, Sylvie was happily married, while Natasha was filthy rich. Meanwhile, Beth and Annabelle Morgan were thick as thieves.
But this year, as they come together again, one sister is noticeably absent. Annabelle is missing, presumed dead, having disappeared the previous year in Malta. But that hasn't stopped the families from returning...
Sylvie's now single and loving life. Natasha's hiding a desperate financial situation, and Beth is barely keeping her life together. Well, at least someone is grieving the dead relative!
When Annabelle's widower Charlie arrives with a new woman in tow, Beth tries to be happy for them, but something just doesn't sit right... Not least that the new girlfriend looks exactly like Annabelle.
As the holiday progresses, Beth's suspicions about Annabelle's death are heightened. What really happened to her?
