Emmerdale‘s Kev Townsend may not be a fan favourite yet as he threatens Robert Sugden and Aaron’s Dingle’s romantic reunion. But the news he’s set to move in with Charles and Claudette Anderson has sparked a fan frenzy.

Ex-con and volatile Kev living with uptight and straight-laced Claudette is a recipe for comedy cold – and viewers are here for it.

Kev reveals his new living arrangements in Emmerdale

As Robert Sugden continues to juggle his double life of a secret prison husband and a reunion with ex-husband Aaron, he thinks he’s got it sorted. With Kev in prison, Robert only has to visit him weekly and lie to Aaron about where he is. Plus Kev’s only got six months to live so he isn’t even going to have to do it for that long.

Except Kev dropped the bombshell last night that he is being released. Not only that, but he’s moving to the village to stay with vicar Charles and his mother Claudette.

So with Kev right on his doorstep, Robert isn’t going to be able to keep the truth from Aaron for long.

The drama that’s coming up, not to mention the comedy pairing Claudette with Kev, has fans very worked up with excitement.

“[Bleep] this Dippy and Ape storyline – I can’t wait for Kev to move in with Claudette,” said one on social media.

Another added laughing emojis and wrote: “Kev getting out and moving in with Charles! I can’t cope!”

“Moving in with vicar Charles, wtf…” agreed a third, also sharing several laughing emojis.

A fourth raved: “Charles about to be in the middle of so much drama omg!”

Someone else described Kev and Claudette as the “new Billy Hopwood and Edna Birch” – Classic fans will remember they were quite the pairing too!

Though some aren’t happy about the twist

Although excitement is high, other viewers were just not on board. They have called it too much of a coincidence and said they didn’t even know Charles took in prisoners.

“So all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Charles is taking in prisoners, oh my god try to be a bit more realistic writers, give the viewers some credit for having at least one brain cell.”

A second queried: “So. There was nowhere else for Robert’s husband to go to but Charles???”

“Of course, of all the vicarage’s in all the world it’s the Emmerdale vicarage that Kev’s moving into…” Added a third.

Next week things get very messy as Kev and Aaron come face to face. Robert has to keep them apart as much as he can, trying to downplay who Kev is.

But soon enough, Aaron will see them kissing and realise Robert’s been lying. How will he react? And will Charles and Claudette be dragged into the love triangle too?
