The two-parter, which airs on New Year's Day and the next (Thursday, January 02, 2025), is actress Brenda's swan song as Vera after 14 years on ITV.

And while fans will no doubt be very sad to say "farewell pet" to the beloved DCI Vera Stanhope, the feature-length episodes are a fitting goodbye.

Here's everything you need to know about the brilliant returning cast of Vera series 14, and the guest stars appearing.
